While Joel dismantles pews to make boards, Susan pours over the scriptures to ensure that we are not violating any cardinal rules (actually she was creating a lovely turquoise bracelet while basking in the glow of the stained glass on a sunny day!). The church is now ready for the renovations (new partitions, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and painting). The job of doing most of these tasks will be contracted out, and requests for quotes are out to three established and reputable contractors. We nervously await the bids, and hope (it seems hypocritical to pray) that they are within reason.
