Hupman Brothers awe audience at Ulgedook Cottage

The Hupman Brothers, from Wolfville, awed a crowd of 30 tonight at Ulgedook Cottage as they played a compilation of their contemporary blues folk tunes. “WOW,” exclaimed a speechless Joel at the end of the Hupman Brothers first set. A truly remarkable evening of entertainment, with many thanks extended to Marie MacLeod who organized the entire event.

The Hupman Brothers features Ryan and Scott Hupman, both on guitar and vocals, who offer music that “is clearly grounded in the golden age of Blues, yet it does not necessarily follow the standard Blues formula. Their songs and arrangements are fresh, with a hint of the swing/ragtime Blues guitar of the 30’s and 40’s with their own contemporary style.” As indicated on their website (www.HupmanBrothers.com), “over the past eight years, the Hupman Brothers have released seven studio albums and received multiple award nominations through Music Nova Scotia, The East Coast Music Association (ECMA), and Maple Blues.”

BE AMAZED

“Are you wondering what the funny walls in Maitland are?

Bernd and Nicole Krebes are skilled European tile craftsmen (www.berndsceramictile.com) who have been creating unique functional artwork in Canada since 2002.

The idea of The Maze:
Bernd liked mazes since he was a little boy. About 15 years ago he again drew a maze. He kept the plan and decided to build this one in 2012. For the art part of the maze, he got inspired from European artists Friedensreich Hundertwasser und Antonio Gaudi.

Where to find The Maze:
Next to Highway 103, take exit 11 towards Bridgewater, # 1174 Hwy 325. You’ll find it on your right where the huge red mushroom is.”
